Improving the Quality of Your Notes

In this article, we'll guide you on how to enhance the quality of your notes taken within CoRecruit during your calls. This can ensure that your documentation reflects the most accurate and useful information possible.

To use the prompt framework mentioned, you can copy this template:

Notes:

Your job is to answer these questions using the participant's information.
For your response, keep the headers and answer the questions using bullet points:

Any additional information mentioned in the call specify in its own category.

How to Improve the Quality of Your Notes

AI is a high-level tool designed for efficiency, but it does not replace the recruiter entirely. We recommend using the 10-80-10 Rule to master your workflow.

The 10-80-10 Rule

  • First 10%: You find the candidate and conduct a clear, high-quality interview.

  • 80%: CoRecruit generates the initial drafts for your notes and submittals.

  • Last 10%: You add the "Human Touch" to optimize the output into a final version.

Technical Tools for Refinement

Because AI works on data prediction, it may "roll the dice" and give varied responses. Use these tools to guide it:

  • The Pen Icon: Clicking this allows you to manually edit the original instructions. Clicking Update forces the AI to "Retry" the task using the same information.

  • AI Edit: Use the writing pen icon to give additional instructions to a note already created (e.g., "Change Speaker A to Name" or "Don't mention salary").

  • Sync Button: If the AI completely misses the target, click Sync to have it retry and generate a fresh response.

Quality In, Quality Out

To ensure the highest quality output, keep these three points in mind:

  • Avoid Ambiguity: Conducting your calls clearly and asking specific questions helps the AI understand exactly what information it should use.

  • No Mind Reading: The AI has no previous context from any other conversations you’ve had; it only knows what is said in the current transcript.

  • Supplement the Transcript: By default, the AI only has the call audio to work with unless you provide more context through Manual Notes or Attachments, such as a CV or Job Description.

Adding Context

To help the AI understand details it might have missed:

    • Manual Notes: Type in details like "Candidate has blue eyes" to provide context not mentioned in the transcript.

    • Attachments: Upload a CV or Job Description as an attachment to give the AI more data to work with.

Mastering the "Power Phrases": Keywords for Quality

To guarantee that your prompt includes the three essential elements, Instruction, Target, and Rules, you can use specific "key phrases" that help the AI logically organize its task. Using these keywords ensures the AI understands exactly what you are referring to.

Here are the three keywords to include in every prompt to boost quality:

  • "Your job is..." (The Instruction): Start your prompt with this phrase to define the AI's primary mission, such as "Your job is to answer these questions".

  • "The Participant" or "The Host" (The Target): Use these specific terms to tell the AI whose information to use. "The Participant" refers to the person you are interviewing, while "The Host" refers to you.

  • "For your response..." (The Details & Rules): Use this keyword to transition into your formatting requirements. This helps the AI determine the structure it should follow, such as "For your response, keep the headers and use bullet points".

Improving the quality of your CoRecruit notes involves both understanding how to effectively interact with the AI and ensuring high-quality, clear recordings.
