Personal Meeting Types

Build meeting templates, personal to you, that only you can see, without cluttering your team's shared library.

What Are Personal Meeting Types?

Meeting types in CoRecruit are templates that shape how your notes and follow-up materials are structured and captured during a call or meeting.

By default, a new meeting type that is created is personal to your account, they belong only to you. Your teammates will never see them in their lists, and they can never be auto-applied to another user's meetings.

This is useful when you:

  • Run a type of interview or call unique to your role that doesn't apply to the rest of the team
  • Want to experiment with a new note structure before deciding whether to share it
  • Have a personal workflow for calls like references, internal syncs, or check-ins
  • Want to adapt a team template privately without affecting what others see

Creating a Personal Meeting Type

When you add a new meeting type, it defaults to Personal automatically — so in most cases you don't need to change anything.

Step by step

  1. Go to Settings → Meeting Types.
  2. Click Add a Meeting Type.
  3. The visibility is set to Personal by default, you'll see this labeled at the top of the creation form.
  4. Fill in the meeting type name, description, notes you want captured, follow-up materials you want created.
  5. Click Save. Your personal meeting type is ready to use.

💡  Tip

You can switch visibility from Personal to Team Wide during creation using the toggle at the bottom of the form. Switching won't erase anything you've already filled in.

Finding Your Personal Meeting Types

The Meeting Types screen has two tabs:

  • Personal: shows only your personal meeting types. This is the default tab when you open the screen.
  • Team Wide: shows all meeting types shared across your team.

Personal meeting types show a single-person icon next to the name in the list. Team types show a group icon. Within the Personal tab, you can search by name, sort alphabetically or by last updated date, and filter by Published or Archived.

Using Personal Meeting Types in Meetings

Your personal meeting types appear alongside team types in the meeting type dropdown across CoRecruit, on the upcoming meeting modal, the ongoing call screen, and the completed meeting detail view.

The dropdown always shows:

  • All team-wide meeting types
  • Your own personal meeting types, labeled "Personal"
  • Never another user's personal meeting types

📌  Note

If you view a colleague's meeting that was assigned to one of their personal meeting types, you'll see that meeting type shown as the current selection. However, it won't appear in your dropdown if you choose to change the meeting type. Once you select a different type, their personal type disappears from view.

Cloning a Meeting Type

You can clone any meeting type, personal or team to create a private copy you can freely edit without affecting the original, provided you have permission to create team-wide meeting types.

  1. Open the three-dot menu (⋯) on any meeting type.
  2. Click Clone.
  3. The creation form opens pre-filled with the original's details.
  4. The new meeting type defaults to Personal.
  5. Make your changes and save.

Cloning is a great way to build on an existing team template privately and optionally convert it back to Team Wide when it's ready.

Converting a Personal Meeting Type to Team Wide

If you've built a personal meeting type and want to make it available to the whole team, you can convert it, provided you have permission to create team-wide meeting types.

  1. Go to Settings → Meeting Types and open the Personal tab.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the meeting type.
  3. Select Convert to Team.
  4. Confirm in the dialog that appears.
  5. The meeting type moves to the Team Wide tab and becomes visible to all team members immediately.
⚠️  ImportantConverting to Team Wide makes it available to the entire team and might clutter your team's meeting types list. Only convert meeting types to team-wide, once you are sure it is working the way you want it to.

Permissions

Personal meeting types are available to all users. However, your admin may have configured restrictions through Role-Based Access Control (RBAC):

  • If you don't have permission to create team-wide meeting types, the Convert to Team option won't appear in the overflow menu.
  • If your admin has restricted meeting type creation entirely, the Add a Meeting Type button may be unavailable.

Contact your team admin if you're unsure about your current permissions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my admin or teammates see my personal meeting types?

The contents of your personal meeting types — name, structure, fields — are not visible to other team members, including admins. However, if one of your meetings is assigned to a personal meeting type, teammates who have access to that meeting may see the meeting type name shown on the meeting detail.

Will my personal meeting types be suggested by AI prediction?

Yes. AI-powered meeting type prediction only applies to team-wide meeting types and your own personal meeting types. Your personal types are never auto-applied to a colleague's meeting.

What happens to my personal meeting types if my account is deleted?

If an admin removes your account, your personal meeting types are permanently deleted. Any meetings that were assigned to your personal types will still retain those meeting type settings until they are changed. Team-wide meeting types you created are not affected, they remain visible to the team.

Can I have both a personal and a team version of the same meeting type?

Yes. Clone any team meeting type to create a personal copy. The two are fully independent — changes to one won't affect the other.

Can I delete a personal meeting type?

Yes, personal meeting types can only be edited or deleted by you, the owner. Use the three-dot menu (⋯) on the meeting type row to delete it. Meetings that were assigned to a deleted personal type will retain a reference to the type name for historical context, but the type will no longer be available for new meetings.
